St Uny Church is an active and growing Church of England worshipping community, offering a range of worship services, community outreach, and involvement.  It is the starting point of St Michael’s Way, and the only official British starting point of the Camino de Santiago. It is also part of the Cornish Celtic Way, and is probably unique in being on three pilgrimage routes as well as the South West Coast Path.  It aims to serve the community of Lelant in as many ways as it can, showing God’s love by its actions. It stands in a holiday area, and has many visitors.  It is open seven days a week.

The church is one of only three community buildings, the others being the Lelant Village Hall and the St Uny Heritage Centre.  It is very limited in the way it can serve the community because of its current internal structure.

Upgrading our facilities.  We have no disabled access; no inside toilet of any description, an inadequate kitchen, and no smaller room or meeting area.  We plan to install these, using clear glass walls within the North West corner, creating a meeting room/smaller space.

The future. Once funds are in place, the floor will be replaced and while the church is empty, we plan to reorganise the interior but in keeping with the ancient building.  The main body of the church may be furnished with movable seating, to make a multi-functional space.  We hope to significantly increase signage and information of the features in the church and its environs, for the benefit of our visitors.

Finally, it is our hope that these changes will enhance rather than hinder the deep beauty and spiritual feel of this wonderful ancient building and create a welcoming place in which to share the Gospel, and to work with the community.

We will use this page to provide updates on the project, once work has started. in the meantime, we welcome donations to support us in our aims. Please use our JustGiving page to donate, which will allow you to Gift Aid your donation if you are a United Kingdom taxpayer. Thank you.
